Sound familiar?

Your garden flowers beautifully. For about a fortnight.

You've bought the seeds. Now you're panicking about what to do with them.
The packet says "sow March to May". That isn't a plan.
You got the timing wrong, and although everything germinated, nothing survived.
You've bought plants that are meant to look lovely in the border but they don't even make it to the vase.
You don't want another project to feel bad about. You want someone to show you.

It's not surprising it doesn't work. Nobody told you the order to do it in.

The honest bit

Experienced growers pick this up over years of trial and error. Beginners are left to guess. The Starter System is the order I wish I'd been given.

What you'll be able to do

Everything you need to plan and start growing your first cut flower garden.

From having no idea where to start, to a plan for your own space and your first seeds sown. You'll choose your flowers, plan your patch and learn when to sow, then take your first practical steps with a simple guide to sowing and growing on.

Picture this

A garden you actually understand.

—Cutting a handful before work and putting them in a jug on the kitchen table.
—Knowing what to sow next without checking three books and a forum.
—Walking past the garden centre impulse buys, because you've already got a plan.
—Handing someone a bunch you grew yourself.

It isn't complicated. It just needs doing in the right order.

Who's teaching you

Hello, I'm Bridget. I was a beginner once upon a time.

I grow cut flowers from seed in a pretty ordinary garden in South Manchester. Before this I was a primary school teacher, then worked in HR for fourteen years. So I'm good at two things: breaking something into clear steps, and nurturing people's confidence while they learn.

In 2024, after redundancy, I turned the thing that got me through a hard few years into The Cut Flower Club. My first season I sowed too much, too late, and half of it was the wrong thing.

The Starter System is the plan I wish someone had handed me at the start.

"It took away all the guesswork and helped me feel confident about the exact flowers to grow."
Patricia, UK
What people say after learning with me
"The pace was exactly right… exactly what I needed as a new beginner."
Angela, US
"It was well structured and I came away with a good plan for what I will do next."
Carole, UK
"We got a garden last year and I'm just overwhelmed, but… I now have a better perspective thanks to you."
Barbara, Germany

Questions

Before you decide.

I've never grown anything. Is this really for me?

Yes. It assumes you're starting from nothing. No jargon, no Latin, no "as you'll already know".

Will it show me how to actually sow the seeds?

Yes. The videos help you choose your flowers, plan your space and know when to sow. Then Your First Seeds, a simple illustrated guide, takes you through the practical part step by step, from mixing your compost to hardening off your seedlings.

I've tried before and it didn't work.

That's usually the timing or the choice of flowers. Both have their own lessons, so you'll know where it went wrong before you sow again.

When is the best time to start a cut flower garden?

Now, whenever you're reading this. There's something to sow or plan in every month of the year, and the month-by-month guide shows you what. Autumn is the prime time to sow for spring, which is exactly how some gardens are full of flowers so early in the year.

How do I get the course?

You'll get your login straight after you pay. Watch on your phone, tablet or laptop, and download the printables to keep.

My garden is small or shady, or I only have pots.

That's fine. The Blueprint shows you how to map the sun and shade in your own space, and whether rows, borders or pots will suit you best. Then you work out how many plants your space will actually hold, whatever its size.

I'm not in the UK.

The principles work anywhere with a temperate growing season. The timings are UK-based, so you'd shift them to suit your climate.

How is this different from The Cut Flower Club?

The Starter System is a one-off course you keep. The Club is a monthly membership where we sow along together live, and follow my own sowing and growing plan. Plenty of people start with this course.

Stop guessing. Start cutting your own flowers.
